The Steps Walkability Policy team addressed pedestrian advocacy with a process of gathering and analyzing data on existing pedestrian-related policies, citizen opinion on pedestrian amenities and funding options, stakeholder input on pedestrian issues in our community, and best practices for organized pedestrian advocacy groups. |
Result: |
The team's work resulted in two reports - Models for Organizing to Promote Pedestrian Friendly Environments and Walkable Communities in Clark County: Organizing and Sustaining Pedestrian Advocacy. The team guided advocacy-related content on the Walking: All Reasons All Seasons website to the Walkability website. The team was awarded a grant to conclude its Steps work of recommending and helping to implement a pedestrian advocacy structure in Clark County. www.walkclarkcounty.org. |
