What: |
A Health system interview tool was developed and administered to five Primary Care Medical Groups to identify use of BMI and clinical guidelines for physical activity, nutrition, diabetic screening, diabetes, obesity, asthma and tobacco use. |
Result: |
60% of groups use BMI as a measure of body fat, but frequency of use varies from annual BMI notation for all patients to BMI notation on bariatric patients only. Also reported was the lack of skills to engage with patients about weight status, smoking and drinking. |
